Ministries

New Life Church has a variety of servant-led ministries

Adult Bible Study

We periodically offer small group studies for adults in various locations, at various times, utilizing a variety of relevant curricula.  Check our events calendar to see our current offerings, or email council@newlife-saugerties.org to recommend a study or to volunteer to lead or host a study.

AUDIO/VISUAL/TECHNICAL TEAM

The technical team exists to facilitate the flow of information, both visual and auditory, to the congregation, locally and abroad with as much excellence as possible.

This includes but is not limited to the operation of the following systems:
  • Main, youth sanctuaries and portable PA's
  • Lighting in main and youth sanctuaries
  • Visual/Projection in main and youth sanctuaries
  • Computer and networking hardware related to these systems

To practically facilitate the technical needs of the church, one must have the following:
  • A desire to volunteer
  • Willingness to learn
  • Time to attend rehearsals or training sessions as necessary
  • Technical experience (optional in some cases)

For more information, or if you are interested in finding out if the Audio/Visual/Technical Team is a good fit for you, please contact Ruben at techdirector@newlife-saugerties.org.

BENEVOLENCE COMMITTEE

The New Life Church benevolence committee provides compassionate assistance and support to the needy within the community and the church. The committee evaluates and addresses individuals' and families' financial and material needs. By these actions, we look to help embody the acts of charity, compassion, and kindness locally and within the church.

CHILDREN'S MINISTRIES

NURSERY

We provide nursery care during our 10:00 a.m. Sunday morning service for children ages 6 months through 4.5 years old. Our goal is to provide quality childcare so each parent can experience all the best God has for them during our service. The nursery is located inside the KidZone room.

For more information, please contact Billie Louis at childrensministries@newlife-saugerties.org.

KIDZONE

KidZone is available for children from Kindergarten through 6th grade during our 10 a.m. Sunday morning service.  We are dedicated to partnering with parents in guiding children to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, to love others, and to be a positive example in our community.  At KidZone, your child will learn biblical truths and real-life applications through age-specific lessons, small groups, and activities.

Each weekend your child can be a part of a fast-paced, energizing environment filled with songs, games, and exciting lessons that teach Godly values in a large group setting at an age-appropriate level. They often have time to break out into small groups to enhance the morning’s lesson by giving them hands-on examples of walking out what they’ve just learned.

GIRLS MINISTRY

Girls Ministry's church-based discipleship program has a legacy of godly women coming alongside girls, guiding them to becoming mature and godly women. We offer a wide variety of activities, focused discipleship track, and a 60-plus-year proven track record of helping girls become confident, godly women who are leaders in the church, home, and world.

Research show girls learn more quickly and deeply when they are mentored by a role model. When a girl understands what it means to be a godly woman, she aspires to the design God intends. A single-gender classroom has many benefits, like making the girls feel safe and secure in their discovery of who God intends them to be.

Girls Ministry uses projects, adventures, meetings, and outings as opportunities to know and understand each girl, her story, and to connect her with the Creator and His plan for her life. The Girls Ministry curriculum meets girls where they are developmentally, helping them build strong biblical foundations while experiencing fun and engaging activities

Our goal is simple: To see every girl moving toward a deep relationship with Jesus Christ, and to realize her importance and potential in the kingdom of God.

Girls Ministry is for girls ages kindergarten to 6th grade and meets during the school year on Wednesdays from 5:30-6:30 p.m.

For more information, please contact Sharee Haromontelongo at childrensministries@newlife-saugerties.org.

Community outreach

“It is more blessed to give than to receive.” ~Jesus

Our ministry is about service through outreach to love like Jesus, be an encouragement and meet people’s needs. We value working together to compassionately engage our community with the goal of connecting people with Jesus. Some of our outreach involvement includes the New Life Community Festival, Hope Rocks, Angel Tree, and Operation Christmas child.

For more information, contact info@newlife-saugerties.org.

HOSPITALITY TEAM

Hospitality is often referred to as the friendly and generous reception and entertainment of guests, visitors and strangers. The Hospitality Ministry Team creates a welcoming experience for first-time visitors and regular attendees and helps with general event management. At New Life Church our hospitality ministry team is the face of the Body of Christ to those God sends our way. Our task is to help our guests feel the love of God by truly welcoming them into God’s house through friendly and authentically gracious service.

The Hospitality Ministry is responsible for setting up coffee and refreshments during fellowship, which occurs directly after service each week. We also clean up and restore the fellowship area for the following week.

For more information contact Al or Helen Shaw at hospitality@newlife-saugerties.org.

FINISH LINE YOUTH GROUP

Finish Line Youth Group is for students age 12 through 12th grade. Our purpose is to engage, educate and empower our youth to connect, grow, serve, go and worship through weekly meetings. We encourage students and resource them to reach their school for Christ. Youth Group meetings on Wednesdays during the school year from 7:00-8:00 p.m.

For more information, contact Pastor James Louis at pastorjames@newlife-saugerties.org.

GREETING TEAM

The Greeting Team’s main objective is to open the door and warmly welcome everyone coming to New Life to worship. A friendly smile is a necessity. We give new visitors a brief tour, and if the visitor is a newcomer with children, we also show them where the nursery and KidZone are. We invite them to stay for coffee and refreshments to fellowship with us after the service. We aim to connect with them after the service to introduce them to others, especially the pastor and council members. Greeters are scheduled in a rotation format. Depending on how many greeters there are, the tour of service might be once every 6 weeks.

For more information, contact Rick or Shirley Lane at info@newlife-saugerties.org.

WOMEN'S MINISTRY

Women’s Ministry exists to encourage women to become all that God designed them to be, to create space for fellowship to strengthen relationships in our community, and be a group of women encouraging and supporting one other in life, with our families, with our church, and with our surrounding community. Women’s Ministry has periodic events throughout the year.

Please contact Billie Louis at info@newlife-saugerties.org for more information.

WORSHIP TEAM

The main reasons for having church services is to meet with God, experience His love, worship Him and love others as we fellowship together. In the corporate worship setting, we are inviting Him to meet with us as much as we are celebrating out of the overflow of a week spent WITH Him. When we open our hearts to Him, His anointing will be present, touching our lives and hearts for good (healing, deliverance, empowerment, peace, joy and more). In essence, “…where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom”.  2 Corinthians 3:17 We believe He is with us when we gather together AND that hearing His word through song and scripture strengthens our faith, enabling us to live for Him during the week in His Power, in His strength, for His glory.

All Worship Team volunteers are members of New Life Church (or in the process of becoming a member) and have completed an application, a required audition and have agreed to the Worship Team guidelines.

For more information, or if you are interested in finding out if the Worship Team Ministry is a good fit for you, please contact Alaina Kimberly via email at worshipdirector@newlife-saugerties.org.
